Instead, we publish a shortlist method: which Calgary communities actually have current legal-suite inventory on MLS® right now, and in what depth.
Selection criteria
- Community must have a subdivision name in the live CREA DDF® feed.
- At least 5 active MLS® listings classified as a legal secondary suite.
- Ranked by legal-suite count only — not by desirability, price, or investor return.
Use this to decide where to look, then narrow with the criteria that actually matter to you (schools, transit, land use, tenant profile). Depth of current inventory usually indicates a builder or resale pattern — new-build density in the outer northeast, older infill in the inner west — not that the community is objectively best.
